Melanie would give it 4 out of 5 Stars

Anthony would give it 4 out of 5 Stars

Hours at the time of Review: 7 days a week 10AM to 8PM

Melanie Ordered: The Tuscan Sandwich (not on the menu) – Grilled Chicken, Mozzarella cheese, Roasted Pepper, with Pesto on Rosemary Roll. Ranch Chives Chips

Anthony Ordered: The Reuben – Corned beef, thousand island, sauerkraut. Customization: On a hero and added bacon. Rosemary and Garlic Chips.

We also asked what their most popular chips were – they said parmesan garlic chips so we ordered a side thing of that and an order of potato skins to share.

The Atmosphere

The Atmosphere: It had a modern /retro feel to it.

The Soda machine is a mini Coca-cola vending  machine.

Maria is the manager and you could see her big smile from the back of the kitchen to the front of the store. She was extremely helpful, hospitable and patient with us as we made our decisions on what we wanted to order.

The food :

Tuscan

The Tuscan sandwich was light and refreshing with a lot of flavor. It not only tasted good, but it smelt good. The bread was very soft.

The Ruben sandwich you can tell the corned beef was made fresh. It was really good, but we both fought over the Tuscan sandwich.

Chips

According to Maria, the chips are made fresh daily in house. You can definitely taste that they were made in house. The Chive chips where stale and pliable but the parmesan garlic ones were more fresh and crispy. The ones with the most flavor parmesan garlic and the ones with the least flavor were the chive.

Price: I know the price of everything is going up – but $20+ a person was a little steep.

They did have a couple of gnats flying around.

In summary, The food was really good and you can tell it was fresh. The price has us questioning if we will be back. My recommendation is that they find better ways to store their homemade chips which I suspect will also take care of the knats as well. Their homemade chips was the reason we decided to give them a try.  They put so much time and effort into the homemade chips, which gives them the competitive edge with those around them as they are one of the view with homemade chips.

Trivia: The same people that own the chocolate store in Patchogue, NY are the same people the own The Hero Joint. The Hero joint is located behind the chocolate place.
